So, while the kiddos were doing their thing
Unfortunately, while we had gorgeous weather all week, of course today was just nasty, wet and dark outside, hence the flash photography here, folks. Stay with me here. Just imagine a beautiful day with lots of natural sunlight pouring through the windows for these shots.
Lots of sweets for the ladies kiddos!
So the children came for lunch, sweets, crafts and playtime and that's what they got!
For the crafts they decorated some little valentine's day mailboxes and made some little magnets for the fridge. Yes, magnets. Don't silently snicker. The kids I needed something quick and easy, preferably in a cheap kit of sorts if I could get it. Enter, Oriental Trading. I'm getting more practical the older I get. Like two weeks ago I wouldn't have even fathomed going with a pre-made "kit" of any kind....from anywhere. I'm growing as a person here.
My glittered and painted red hugs and kisses letters, sadly, much prettier than this photo captured...
And proof that a princess does indeed live here among a bunch of boys....my pink tulle tutu wreath. Found the scoop on how to make one of those from here. I obviously didn't go with the full recipe of tulle, but I was antsy to see the finished product and I couldn't bring myself to tie on one more strip of that pesky tulle. I shoot for quick crafts...one hour or less for something fabulous is what I like to see. Little input, big reward. I'm comfortable with that.
Also, I got to thinking a couple of weeks ago that my husband and I's ten year anniversary is coming up in March. I saw the family name and established graphic vinyl via etsy and thought it was a great way to remember the milestone for us.

Oh, and I love my framed print as well. It came courtesy of this generous lady.
Mini cupcakes, brownie covered oreos, peanut butter with chocolate drizzle popcorn, mini cinnamon rolls....
For lunch, the kiddos had their choice of cute little heart shaped PB&J or Ham and Cheese sandwiches. The ladies had pasta salad and a few other diet-unapproved goodies.
My two boys definitely enjoyed having their friends over! Even though they all weren't able to go outside to play, having friends over on a rainy day certainly made it feel a whole lot less gloomier. Thanks to all of my friends and their kiddos for getting out in the mess and spending the day with us! Soooo....Who's up for hosting the next one??! Don't everybody waive their hands up all at once now!
